Abstract 2015 brought eight judgments in relation to individual applications directed against Austria. Whereas the previous years could be qualified as years where the Austrian Government rather successfully defended itself before the Strasbourg Court, 2015 shows a rather mixed performance, with five judgments finding a violation by Austria of the Convention. However, the pattern of the “usual suspects" in terms of affected Convention rights has widely remained intact. The reported judgments and inadmissibility decisions deal with Articles 3, 6, 8 as well as 10 of the Convention. It deserves notice that the Court specifically reminded Austria in three of its judgments that it had found violations of Article 6 in regard to Austria in a number of similar cases.
