On 11th and 12th December the Federal Competition Authority hosted the Vienna Competition Conference. More than 30 National Competition Authorities (NCAs) and other institutions which deal with competition and cartel law, 27 high level speakers and over 150 followers of the community participated in that event. The first day of the event was a closed session for NCAs only. The outcome of the first day has to be treated confidentially and cannot be published. The second day was open for the interested public and pervaded in the light of „Independence and institutional design of Competition Authorities“ and „Investigative and decision-making powers in contrast to due process and defence rights“.
