1. Establishment of the Russian Legislation on Intellectual Property
a. First rules about Intellectual Property
The first intellectual property law rules in Russia were established in the Nineteenth Century. Russian first Patent Act, which was called “On the privileges for various inventions and discoveries in the Arts and Crafts„, was adopted in June 17, 1812. In 1828 the Censorship Statute was approved, which included a special chapter “On the authors and publishers of books.„ Legislation on intellectual property was developing in accordance with international standards until 1919, when the Soviet government abolished all previously adopted acts in this area, announced the nationalization of intellectual property and adopted fundamentally new laws in this area.
